Past Times

Our ‘night out on a Monday afternoon’ provides the opportunity for people of a certain age to have a great time every week. We recreate a 1950’s night club, play bingo and hold a quiz. Free tea and coffee will be brought to your table along with a biscuit but if you want something a little stronger our bar is open. Musicians perform live music from the 50’s. 60’s and 70’s singing all of your favourites and you can dance, sing along and clap to the beat.

Every Monday (excluding Bank Holidays) from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. Free of charge but donations are welcome.

A Past Times Event

We have been in partnership with Huddersfield University to develop an ‘Arch-Way Project Model’ with a PhD student from the university interviewing attendees and collating the data to then create a model so that other organisations can set up their own Past Times project. This will be recognised as an Arch-Way Project intervention where other organisations can look at the model and run their own event to help combat loneliness and isolation in their own communities, to further reduce the number of people who are isolated and in need of human contact and engagement.

Due to the ever-growing cost of living increases, we also started to promote the Past Times project as a ‘Warm Welcome’ space. ‘Warm Welcome’ is an initiative to connect people, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, to help support them and reconnect people, in a ‘warm space’, where people come to stay warm and access facilities that may not be available to them due to the cost-of-living increases. Rather than stay at home and pay extortionate prices to sit at home, they can come to the Arch-Way Project and use our facilities which helps them reduce their bills.
